Todd has led UCC’s comprehensive music ministry since 2016. In this role, he conducts the Chancel Choir and UCC Bell Ringers, and provides oversight for the other handbell choirs and children’s choir program. Additionally, he serves on the Boar’s Head Guild and Music Committee, and guides the Belltower Series.
He has enjoyed a variety of music leadership roles within churches and higher education, previously serving at First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas, First Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Texas, Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne, Indiana and the University of Arkansas.
Choral ensembles under his direction have been invited performers for state, regional, national and international conferences, performing at major venues in Newfoundland, Toronto, San Diego, Indianapolis, and New York City. His recent conducting performances include Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass, and Bach’s St. John Passion. He has also been blessed to teach and present reading sessions at various music conferences including TCDA (Texas Choral Directors Association) and ADM (Association of Disciple Musicians).
Todd received his Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting from Michigan State University and degrees in music education and choral conducting from Texas Christian University. As affirmation of his ministry at University Christian Church, he has been commissioned as a minister by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest.
